Dear --name--

On our recent trip out West, strong winds and black clouds punctuated something we had never before seen – purple mountains majesty. The weather and the light were perfect for the Rockies to appear dark purple. On the way to and from a book seller’s convention in Denver, what sights we saw, even a flying shopping cart in an intense storm in Iowa! In Denver, our latest suspense thriller, Confirming Justice, was introduced. Those of you who have read Facing Justice will remember FBI Agent Griffin Topping, who is Eva Montanna’s partner, as well as Judge Dwight Pendergast, the U.S. District Judge in Alexandria, Virginia who presided over cases worked by Eva and Griff.

In Confirming Justice, hang on as Griff races to find a missing witness in a bribery case against a Cabinet member’s son. Then, the Judge asks Griff to solve a long-buried mystery in Dwight’s life. Things get complicated when Dwight is nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court, and his opponents scheme to uncover a scandal reaching to the White House, and derail his nomination. Confirming Justice should be in your favorite bookstore, or through our web site by September 1st.

Traveling across the country before and after the 4th of July was fantastic! On the “pre-release” book tour for Confirming Justice, we had thirteen book signings in nine cities, over fourteen days. We met so many interesting and wonderful people that the 4350 miles we drove were worth every gallon of fuel. And, our trip confirmed something we feel in our hearts. We are blessed to live in America.

Negative news may be exploding around us, but did you know that the Americans we met expressed love for their country and told us they want our country to be more united? Because of our past careers in government and law enforcement, readers ask us what we all can do, individually, to make our country a better place. We have ideas, but before posting them on the site, we decided to issue a challenge to our gentle readers.

Please send us an email with your ideas, by September 1, 2006, (the official release date) for how you think we Americans can pull together. Also give us your permission to post your idea and name in the next newsletter, if you are a winner. The best two responses (of course, we get to decide) will each receive a complimentary signed copy of Confirming Justice. If you already own it, they make great gifts. Be creative, but above all, be positive!

On the tour we heard, “I read Facing Justice and can’t wait to read the new book.” To the police officers, federal agents, U.S. probation officers, nurses, pastors, current and retired military, Moms, Dads, teens, grandparents and readers of all stripes who braved searing heat, sixty m.p.h. winds, and traffic to come to our recent book signings, don’t forget: We’d love to hear from you. Tell us, did you enjoy reading the books on vacation? Who is your favorite character?

To those who have not yet purchased Confirming Justice, be sure to check out the new book-signing schedule on our home page. We plan to be at the library in Pentwater, MI on August 21, River Bank Books in Grand Rapids, MI on September 1, Barnes and Noble at River Town Crossings Mall in Grandville, MI on September 8, in the Washington, D.C. area, including Front Royal in mid-September, and a book talk and signing at Baker Books in Grand Rapids, where we will speak on, “Danger, intrigue and crime: our real-life stories of faith.” Additional locations will soon be added to our schedule!

Authors of Facing JusticeTo all of you, e-mail us at the “contact us” tab above, with your idea for how we Americans, one on one, can unite our families, neighborhoods, towns and country for a chance to win a signed copy of Confirming Justice!

Happy writing and reading, Diane and David
